PlacesOnLine Seeking Applicants for Editorial Board Positions

PlacesOnLine (www.placesonline.org) is seeking applicants for positions on its Editorial Board.  PlacesOnLine, which was initiated by the AAG’s Centennial Celebration Committee, is a map-based Web portal that links to high quality place-based Web sites worldwide.  The criteria that we use for choosing sites are specified on the PlacesOnLine site (www.placesonline.org/about/criteria.asp) .

Editorial Board members identify appropriate sites, enter them into PlacesOnLine using a user-friendly Web interface, regularly monitor the sites entered to make sure that they are active and continue to meet our criteria for inclusion, and participate with the entire PlacesOnLine staff in planning and modifying the system.  Normally, board members are appointed for three-year terms.
